During their graduate studies at the University of Western Ontario, Andrea and Megaria found a shared passion in the music they enjoy exploring. There is such a wide variety of wonderful music for piano and voice, many of which unfortunately underperformed. Together with their interest in contemporary works, Andrea and Megaria decided to form the Eklektik Duo.

A derivative from the Greek word “eklektikos”, which means “choosing the best from various sources”, they want this name to represent the ways they draw inspiration from a variety of genres and styles to create the unique sound of their duo. Together, they’ve explored a wide range of work focusing towards the classical contemporary works and living composers such as Vivian Fung, John Greer, Helmut Lachenmann, Libby Larsen, Kaija Saariaho, Ana Sokolovic and many more.
